Kelp
Kelp are large seaweeds (algae). Kelp grows in underwater "forests" (kelp forests) in shallow oceans and are known for their high growth rate: half a meter a day reaching 30-80 meters.

Borrowed Images of Mar's Colonization


When searching for illustrations of envisioned Mar's colonization, I wanted to locate a diverse amount of portrayals.

The first being a popular depiction of a"Domed" city by Stoupa.


The second image borrows from the idea of a"Spire" city, capped with domes. By Tektwn





Craig Baurley titles his piece "Terraform," a saucer-like colony.








And lastly, imagery of a "Corroding" habitat that portrays the harsh extremities of living on Mars. By N. Angel
